Bridge the Downs Link campaign launched to make Rudgwick A281 crossing safe

The Bridge the Downs Link campaign has now officially launched.

This grassroots campaign was formed following the death of a cyclist on the Downs Link at the notorious Rudgwick A281 crossing.

The cycle forum is proud to support this initiative, along with Rudgwick Parish Council, the Rudgwick Preservation Society, the British Horse Society, the West Sussex Cycle Forum and many others.

Crossing the A281 – taking your life into your hands

For over 10 years local residents and representatives of the different user groups have highlighted the dangers of the crossing and called on West Sussex County Council to make the route safe by reinstating a bridge across the road.

The newly-formed group aims to ensure that no one else has to die before a bridge is installed at  the crossing. More details can be found on their website.

You can show your support by writing to your County councillor (details on the website), by signing up for updates and by following them on Facebook.
